A Note From the Producing Director
Welcome to the birth of something new-again. It would be hard to say that what we’re doing with the Arts-Caravan Project is completely new. It’s almost easier to look at it as the birth of something old, with a scope of service that embodies a generation that wants it all and wants it now.
This project provides an opportunity to bridge the gaps in our communities. We chose mass transit vehicles over school buses or trucks because, mass transit buses already do what we aim to do: support the community.
Over the years and through this project, I have learned to truly embrace the words of Leonard Bernsein: "…Art never stopped a war and never got anybody a job. That was never its function. Art cannot change events. But it can change people. It can affect people so that they are changed...because people are changed by art - enriched, ennobled, encouraged - they then act in a way that may affect the course of events...by the way they vote, they behave, the way they think…"
Hence, the mission of our project: ignite community engagement through arts. I hope that you can join us one way or another in support of this life-changing journey.
